Description

  • 1 prepared pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 head of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for roasting garlic)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the top off a head of garlic to expose the cloves, drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil, and roast for 35-40 minutes until soft and golden. Set aside to cool.
  2. Increase oven temperature to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven to heat.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour to form a roux, cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk until smooth. Add Parmesan, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  4. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired shape and thickness.
  5. Spread the white sauce over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  6. Squeeze the roasted garlic cloves out of their skins and mash lightly. Dot the pizza with mashed roasted garlic.
  7. Top with shredded chicken and mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  8. Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  9. Remove from oven, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, slice, and serve warm.
