- 1 prepared pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 head of garlic
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for roasting garlic)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the top off a head of garlic to expose the cloves, drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil, and roast for 35-40 minutes until soft and golden. Set aside to cool.
- Increase oven temperature to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven to heat.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour to form a roux, cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk until smooth. Add Parmesan, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired shape and thickness.
- Spread the white sauce over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
- Squeeze the roasted garlic cloves out of their skins and mash lightly. Dot the pizza with mashed roasted garlic.
- Top with shredded chicken and mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
- Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from oven, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, slice, and serve warm.
