Description

This Salami-Mozzarella Tortellini Pasta Salad is a flavorful and satisfying dish, packed with tender cheese-filled tortellini, savory salami, and fresh mozzarella. Tossed in a tangy Italian dressing, this pasta salad is perfect for picnics, barbecues, or as a side dish for any meal. It’s easy to prepare and can be served cold or at room temperature.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz cheese tortellini (cooked and drained)
  • 6 oz salami, diced
  • 6 oz fresh mozzarella, cubed
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup black olives, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Italian dressing (store-bought or homemade)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Tortellini: Cook the tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water to cool down.
  • Prepare the Ingredients: While the pasta is cooling, dice the salami, cube the mozzarella, and halve the cherry tomatoes. Slice the red onion and black olives.
  • Assemble the Salad: In a large bowl, combine the cooked tortellini, diced salami, cubed mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, red onion, and black olives.
  • Add Dressing: Pour the Italian dressing over the pasta and toss everything together until well-coated.
  • Season: Add salt and pepper to taste, and garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
  • Chill and Serve: For best flavor, chill the pasta salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, you can omit the salami and substitute with more vegetables such as cucumbers or bell peppers.
  • You can add some freshly grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
  • This salad can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
