For the Salisbury Steak:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Onion Gravy:

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the Salisbury Steak: Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Shape into 4-5 patties.
  • Cook the Patties: In a skillet, cook patties over medium heat for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Make the Onion Gravy: In the same skillet, add butter and onions. Cook until softened and golden. Sprinkle flour over onions, add broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened.
  • Combine and Serve: Return patties to skillet, spoon gravy over, and simmer for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
