Description

Crispy and golden apple fritters made with sweet Honeycrisp apples, a light cinnamon batter, and finished with a drizzle of salted honey glaze. Perfect for fall mornings or cozy desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large Honeycrisp apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Salted honey glaze:
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 12 tsp milk (to thin, if needed)
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla. Pour into dry ingredients and stir to form a thick batter.
  3. Fold in the diced apples until evenly coated.
  4. Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, honey, and milk to make the glaze.
  8. Drizzle glaze over warm fritters and sprinkle lightly with flaky sea salt. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a thermometer to maintain consistent oil temperature.
  • Fritters are best served fresh, but can be reheated in the oven.
  • You can substitute Honeycrisp apples with any crisp, tart variety.
