Ingredients
Scale
- 12 San Giorgio lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 32 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 26 oz pasta sauce (preferably marinara)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the Noodles: Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to prevent sticking, then set aside.
- Prepare Meat Sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until browned (about 8-10 minutes). Drain excess fat if necessary. Stir in the pasta sauce and mix until well combined.
- Prepare Ricotta Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, beaten eggs, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.
- Assemble the Lasagna:
- In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread ⅓ of the meat sauce on the bottom.
- Layer with about 4 lasagna noodles, then spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles and sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat for a second layer: add another third of the meat sauce, another layer of noodles, the remaining ricotta mixture, and another cup of mozzarella.
- For the final layer, place the remaining noodles, top with all the remaining meat sauce, and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
- Rest and Serve: Let the lasagna sit for about 15 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
Notes
