- 1 lb breakfast sausage (bulk or casings removed)
- 1 (30 oz) bag frozen hashbrowns
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp butter (for greasing the baking dish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and crumbled. Drain any excess grease and set the sausage aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the frozen hashbrowns for 5-7 minutes until slightly crispy, then remove from heat and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
- Add the softened cream cheese to the egg mixture and whisk until smooth and fully combined.
- In the greased baking dish, layer the cooked hashbrowns evenly at the bottom.
- Spread the cooked sausage evenly over the hashbrowns.
- Pour the egg and cream cheese mixture over the sausage and hashbrowns.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
- Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the casserole is golden and bubbly.
- Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can prep this casserole the night before, cover it, and refrigerate it overnight before baking the next morning.
