Description

Delicious sausage griddlers—spicy breakfast sausages wrapped in flaky puff pastry, perfect for a savory snack or breakfast on the go.


Ingredients

  • 400g spicy breakfast sausage (or your favorite sausage)
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme or sage (optional)
  • Mustard or ketchup for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Divide sausage into 8 equal portions and shape into small sausages or patties.
  3. Roll out puff pastry sheet and cut into 8 rectangles large enough to wrap each sausage.
  4. Place each sausage on a pastry rectangle, sprinkle with thyme or sage if using.
  5. Wrap the pastry around the sausage, sealing edges with a little beaten egg.
  6. Place wrapped sausages on the prepared baking tray.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until pastry is golden and cooked through.
  9. Serve warm with mustard or ketchup if desired.
