Ingredients
Scale
- 10 frozen puff pastry squares, thawed
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 8 ounces softened cream cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Granulated garlic, to taste
- 4–6 jalapeños, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Colby Jack cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
- Prepare Puff Pastry: Fold over each thawed puff pastry square, corner to corner. Make two slits on either side to shape into a danish “kite” shape. Place each shaped piece of puff pastry onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Assemble Danishes: Brush the pastries with egg wash. Top the center with cream cheese and spread evenly. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic. Top each with sliced jalapeños, Colby Jack cheese, mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese, and panko bread crumbs.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown and flaky, about 18-22 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For extra spice, you can include the seeds from the jalapeños.
- These can be prepared ahead of time and frozen before baking.
