Ingredients
Scale
- 380 g (3 cups) all-purpose flour
- 20 g (3 tablespoons) cornstarch
- 40 g (3 tablespoons) butter, melted
- 50 g (⅝ cup) sugar
- 1 egg
- 7 g (1 teaspoon) salt
- 7 g (1 ½ tsp) dry yeast
- 150 ml (⅔ cup) hot milk
- 40 ml (3 tablespoons) vegetable oil
- Melted butter (for brushing)
- Sesame seeds (for topping)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, salt, and dry yeast. Add the melted butter, hot milk, vegetable oil, egg, and sugar to the flour mixture. Knead the mixture until you obtain a smooth dough.
- Let the Dough Rise: Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- Shape the Rolls: Once risen, cut the dough into pieces and roll each piece into a ball. Flatten each ball into a disc. Brush one half with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds over it.
- Form the Rolls: Roll the discs overlapping them slightly and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let them rise for another hour.
- Bake the Rolls: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Brush the rolls with egg yolk and bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve: Enjoy your sesame seed bread rolls warm!
Notes
- Ensure your yeast is fresh for optimal rising.
- Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving for the best texture.
