These Shamrock Homemade Gummies are the perfect sweet treat for St. Patrick’s Day! Made with natural fruit juice and gelatin, these gummies are easy to make, fun to shape, and full of vibrant green color. These cute, shamrock-shaped gummies are a healthier alternative to store-bought candy and add a festive touch to your celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Fruit Juice (such as green apple, lime, or pineapple juice for a green color)
- 1 tbsp Honey or Maple Syrup (optional, for sweetness)
- 2 1/2 tbsp Gelatin (about 3 packets)
- 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice (optional, for a tangy flavor)
- Green Food Coloring (optional, for vibrant color)
- Shamrock-Shaped Silicone Mold (or any mold of choice)
Instructions
- Prepare the Gelatin Mixture:
- In a small saucepan, pour 1/4 cup of the fruit juice and sprinkle the gelatin over it. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom (this helps the gelatin dissolve evenly).
- After blooming, heat the saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin fully dissolves.
- Add the Remaining Ingredients:
- Add the rest of the fruit juice to the saucepan and stir to combine.
- If you’d like extra sweetness, add honey or maple syrup and mix until dissolved.
- Add lemon juice and green food coloring if you want a tangy flavor and more vibrant color.
- Pour Into Molds:
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and carefully pour the mixture into your shamrock-shaped silicone mold, or any other mold you prefer. You can use a spoon or pour directly from the pan.
- Fill each mold cavity evenly.
- Chill to Set:
- Place the molds in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the gummies have fully set and are firm to the touch.
- Remove and Serve:
- Once the gummies are set, carefully pop them out of the molds.
- Serve them immediately or store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Notes
- You can use any fruit juice you prefer, though green juice like lime or green apple gives the most festive St. Patrick’s Day look.
- If you don’t have a shamrock-shaped mold, you can use any silicone mold or a standard square/round mold.
- These gummies can be customized with other flavors by using different fruit juices or adding small amounts of pureed fruit.
- If you want a firmer texture, you can add an extra teaspoon of gelatin.
