- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- 2–3 drops green food coloring (optional, for a festive touch)
For the chocolate topping:
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions
- Prepare the crust:
- In a medium bowl, combine the Oreo cookie crumbs and melted butter. Stir until the crumbs are evenly coated with butter.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form a crust. Use the back of a spoon to press it down firmly.
- Place the dish in the fridge to set while you prepare the next layers (about 15 minutes).
- Make the mint filling:
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.
- Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract, and continue to beat until fully combined and smooth.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is light and fluffy. If desired, add a few drops of green food coloring and mix until you reach your desired color.
- Assemble the layers:
- Once the crust has set, spread the mint filling evenly over the crust layer in the 9×13-inch dish.
- Smooth the top with a spatula, and then place the dish back in the fridge to chill while you make the chocolate topping.
- Prepare the chocolate topping:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with the heavy cream in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until fully melted and smooth.
- Let the melted chocolate cool slightly, then pour it evenly over the mint filling layer.
- Chill the dessert:
- Refrigerate the dessert for at least 3 hours, or overnight if possible, to allow the layers to set properly.
- Serve:
- Before serving, top the dessert with a generous layer of whipped topping, and garnish with chocolate shavings or sprinkles if desired.
