Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 bag tortilla chips (about 10–12 oz)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- 1/2 cup sliced jalapeños
- 1/2 cup black olives, sliced
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 cup sour cream (for serving)
- 1 cup salsa (for serving)
- 1/2 cup guacamole (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat and stir in the taco seasoning along with a splash of water. Let it simmer until well combined.
- Prepare the Nachos: On a large baking sheet, spread a layer of tortilla chips. Top with the seasoned ground beef, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Add Toppings: Once out of the oven, add red onion, jalapeños, black olives, green onions, and cilantro on top of the nachos.
- Serve: Serve immediately with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Vegetarian Option: Skip the ground beef and use black beans or refried beans for a vegetarian version.
- Spicy: Add extra jalapeños or hot sauce for more heat.
- Cheese: Feel free to mix and match your favorite cheeses, like pepper jack or Monterey Jack, for a twist.
