- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 (17.3-ounce) package refrigerated puff pastry sheet
- 1 can refried beans
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 cup black olives, sliced
- 2 Roma tomatoes, diced
- 3 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat your oven according to the puff pastry package instructions, usually at 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a greased or parchment-lined sheet pan. Press the edges and corners to form a lip around the border. Pierce with a fork and par-bake for 8 minutes.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion until the meat is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
- Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet, mixing well. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Remove the baked puff pastry from the oven and let it cool slightly. If it has puffed up, gently press down the center.
- Spread warm refried beans over the pastry, then layer the taco filling evenly, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the taco filling.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and distribute chopped lettuce, sliced black olives, diced Roma tomatoes, and sliced green onions over the cheese layer.
- Allow to cool slightly before cutting into squares or rectangles.
