Description

A delicious and easy-to-make taco-inspired pizza featuring flaky puff pastry topped with seasoned ground beef, refried beans, and fresh vegetables. Perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 (17.3-ounce) package refrigerated puff pastry sheet
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 cup black olives, sliced
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, diced
  • 3 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven according to the puff pastry package instructions, usually at 400°F (200°C).
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a greased or parchment-lined sheet pan. Press the edges and corners to form a lip around the border. Pierce with a fork and par-bake for 8 minutes.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion until the meat is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet, mixing well. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove the baked puff pastry from the oven and let it cool slightly. If it has puffed up, gently press down the center.
  • Spread warm refried beans over the pastry, then layer the taco filling evenly, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the taco filling.
  • Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and distribute chopped lettuce, sliced black olives, diced Roma tomatoes, and sliced green onions over the cheese layer.
  • Allow to cool slightly before cutting into squares or rectangles.

Notes

  • Customize toppings based on personal preference.
  • For added spice, consider incorporating jalapeños into the beef mixture.
