Description

This luxurious shrimp lasagna is a perfect twist on the classic, featuring creamy white sauce, a blend of cheeses, and succulent shrimp. The layers of tender pasta and flavorful sauce make every bite a delicious experience.


Ingredients

  • 500g clean and peeled prawns (shrimp)
  • 12 sheets of lasagna pasta
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cream (or heavy cream)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil (for cooking shrimp and sautéing)

Instructions

  1. 1️⃣ Preheat the oven:
    Set the oven to 180°C (350°F). Cook lasagna sheets according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

    2️⃣ Cook the shrimp:
    In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

    3️⃣ Prepare the sauce:
    In the same skillet, add the remaining butter. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until softened and fragrant. Add the cream and milk, stirring well. Cook over low heat until the sauce begins to thicken. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.

    4️⃣ Assemble the lasagna:
    In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of the white sauce at the bottom. Add a layer of lasagna sheets, followed by a layer of shrimp, a spoonful of ricotta cheese, and some chopped parsley. Repeat the layers until the ingredients are used up. Finish with a top layer of white sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

    5️⃣ Bake:
    Place the lasagna in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

    6️⃣ Serve:
    Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with extra chopped parsley, if desired.

Notes

  • You can add a bit of garlic powder or Italian seasoning to the sauce for extra flavor.
  • If you’d like a richer sauce, you can use half-and-half instead of milk.
