- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 can (15 oz) Sloppy Joe sauce
- 1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the Sloppy Joe sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Unroll the crescent rolls and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, arranging them to form a crust that covers the bottom of the dish.
- Spread the Sloppy Joe mixture evenly over the crescent roll crust, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent roll crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
