This Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken is the perfect blend of sweet and savory, with tender chicken cooked to perfection in a flavorful sauce. Easy to make and ideal for busy weeknights!
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or coconut aminos for gluten-free)
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening sauce)
- 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening sauce)
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, basil, oregano, and black pepper until well combined.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken in the slow cooker, making sure the chicken is well coated.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
- Optional: If you’d like a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry and stir it into the sauce in the slow cooker. Let it cook for an additional 10 minutes to thicken.
- Serve the chicken with the sauce spooned over it. Pair with rice, veggies, or a side salad for a complete meal.
Notes
- This recipe works well with chicken thighs if you prefer dark meat.
- For a spicier kick, you can add red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
