Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (6 to 7-lb) bone-in turkey breast, thawed
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp seasoned salt
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tsp pepper
- 2 tsp onion powder
Instructions
- Prepare the Turkey:
Brush the turkey breast with olive oil, ensuring it’s evenly coated. - Season the Turkey:
In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, seasoned salt, paprika, Italian seasoning, pepper, and onion powder. Rub this seasoning mixture generously over the turkey breast, ensuring all areas are coated. - Cook the Turkey:
Place the seasoned turkey breast, breast side up, into a 6-quart slow cooker. Cover the slow cooker with its lid and set the heat to LOW. Cook for 5 to 6 hours, or until the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 170ºF when checked with an instant-read meat thermometer. - Optional: Crisp the Skin:
Once the turkey is done, transfer it to a baking pan. Place the pan under the broiler for a few minutes to crisp up the skin, watching carefully to avoid burning. - Serve:
Once the skin is crisped, let the turkey rest for a few minutes before carving and serving. Enjoy your perfectly cooked, juicy turkey!
Notes
- The turkey takes about 5 hours to cook on the LOW setting in the slow cooker. If you prefer to cook it on HIGH, it will take about half the time, around 2 ½ to 3 hours.
- If you don’t like the skin, you can remove it before cooking. The turkey will still be delicious!
- Ensure the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 170ºF for the best results.
- You can easily adjust the seasoning to suit your preferences. Try Cajun, BBQ seasoning, or even onion soup mix for a unique twist.
- If you’re cooking from frozen, it will take longer, so plan accordingly, but it is perfectly safe to cook from frozen.
