Description

This Slow Cooker Turkey Breast recipe is the perfect solution for a tender, juicy, and flavorful turkey without all the fuss. Simply season the turkey breast, place it in the slow cooker, and let it cook for about 5 hours. This method is a quick, easy, and hassle-free way to prepare turkey for your next holiday meal or a cozy dinner with family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (6 to 7-lb) bone-in turkey breast, thawed
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp seasoned salt
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  • Prepare the Turkey:
Brush the turkey breast with olive oil, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  • Season the Turkey:
In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, seasoned salt, paprika, Italian seasoning, pepper, and onion powder. Rub this seasoning mixture generously over the turkey breast, ensuring all areas are coated.
  • Cook the Turkey:
Place the seasoned turkey breast, breast side up, into a 6-quart slow cooker. Cover the slow cooker with its lid and set the heat to LOW. Cook for 5 to 6 hours, or until the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 170ºF when checked with an instant-read meat thermometer.
  • Optional: Crisp the Skin:
Once the turkey is done, transfer it to a baking pan. Place the pan under the broiler for a few minutes to crisp up the skin, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  • Serve:
Once the skin is crisped, let the turkey rest for a few minutes before carving and serving. Enjoy your perfectly cooked, juicy turkey!

Notes

  • The turkey takes about 5 hours to cook on the LOW setting in the slow cooker. If you prefer to cook it on HIGH, it will take about half the time, around 2 ½ to 3 hours.
  • If you don’t like the skin, you can remove it before cooking. The turkey will still be delicious!
  • Ensure the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 170ºF for the best results.
  • You can easily adjust the seasoning to suit your preferences. Try Cajun, BBQ seasoning, or even onion soup mix for a unique twist.
  • If you’re cooking from frozen, it will take longer, so plan accordingly, but it is perfectly safe to cook from frozen.
