Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 4 oz smoked salmon, chopped
- 2 tablespoons capers, drained and chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped (plus more for garnish)
- 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Bagel chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Base: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard. Stir until smooth and well combined.
- Add the Salmon and Herbs: Gently fold in the chopped smoked salmon, capers, fresh dill, and chives (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Chill: Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. If you have more time, letting it chill for a few hours or overnight will deepen the flavor.
- Serve: When ready to serve, transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with additional fresh dill or chives. Serve with bagel chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables like cucumber slices or carrots.
Notes
- For a more intense smoky flavor, you can use smoked salmon spread or add a few drops of liquid smoke.
- If you prefer a more decadent dip, you can substitute some of the sour cream with heavy cream or crème fraîche.
- You can prepare this dip in advance; it keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- If you’re not a fan of capers, you can replace them with finely chopped red onion or shallots.
