Description

A delightful dessert that combines the flavors of snickerdoodle cookies with a gooey, comforting cobbler texture. Perfect for fall gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, divided
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups boiling water

Instructions

  • Preheat Your Oven:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.

  • Prepare the Batter:
Pour the melted butter into the greased baking dish. In a medium bowl, mix 1 cup of granulated sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add milk and vanilla extract, stirring until just combined. Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish without stirring.

  • Mix the Topping:
In a separate bowl, combine the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter in the baking dish.

  • Add Boiling Water:
Carefully pour 2 cups of boiling water over the top of the sugar mixture without stirring.

  • Bake the Cobbler:
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.

  • Serve:
Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving. For an indulgent treat, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider adding chopped nuts or a dash of nutmeg.
