Description

  • ½ cup Southern Comfort whiskey (or your preferred whiskey)
  • 1 cup sour cream, at room temperature

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan or tube pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:

    • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar:

    • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 4-5 minutes).
  4. Add Eggs and Extracts:

    • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  5. Alternate Adding Dry Ingredients and Sour Cream:

    • Add the dry ingredients in three parts, alternating with the sour cream. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Add Southern Comfort:

    • Stir in the Southern Comfort whiskey until fully incorporated.
  7. Bake the Cake:

    • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  8. Cool and Serve:

    • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Optionally, drizzle with a glaze made from powdered sugar and Southern Comfort whiskey for extra flavor.
