Ingredients
Scale
For the Dumplings:
- 12 frozen dumplings (pork, chicken, or vegetable, your choice)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Tacos:
- 6 soft taco shells or flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup sliced cucumber
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 1/4 cup creamy sriracha mayo or your favorite dipping sauce
Instructions
- Cook the Dumplings:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the frozen dumplings to the pan, flat side down. Fry for about 3-4 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Carefully add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately. Let the dumplings steam for 5-6 minutes until fully cooked.
- Remove the lid, flip the dumplings, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until they are crispy on both sides. Remove and set aside.
- Assemble the Tacos:
- While the dumplings cook, warm your taco shells in the oven or on a skillet for about 1-2 minutes.
- Once the dumplings are crispy, smash each dumpling gently with a spatula.
- Place 2 smashed dumplings in each taco shell.
- Add Toppings:
- Top the dumplings with shredded lettuce, carrots, cucumber slices, tomatoes, green onions, and cilantro.
- Drizzle with creamy sriracha mayo or your favorite dipping sauce.
- Serve:
- Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy these flavorful and crispy fusion tacos!
Serving Suggestions:
- Pair with a side of guacamole, salsa, or a light Asian-style cucumber salad.
- For extra crunch, sprinkle with sesame seeds or chopped peanuts.
Notes
- You can substitute the dumplings with store-bought frozen gyoza or potstickers for ease.
- For a vegetarian option, use vegetable dumplings or tofu-based dumplings.
- Adjust the sauce based on your spice preference—mayo can be substituted with sour cream for a milder taste.
