Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
- 1/4 cup grated carrots
- 1/4 cup green onions (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (or more for extra spice)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 package spring roll wrappers (or dumpling wrappers)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded cabbage, grated carrots, chopped green onions, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, sriracha sauce, rice vinegar, black pepper, and salt. Mix everything together until well combined.
- Assemble the Dumpling Rolls: Lay a spring roll or dumpling wrapper on a clean surface. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of the wrapper. Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling and roll tightly, sealing the edges with a little water.
- Heat the Oil: Heat vegetable oil in a large frying pan or deep fryer over medium-high heat. You need enough oil to cover at least half of the dumpling rolls for frying.
- Fry the Dumpling Rolls: Carefully place the dumpling rolls in the hot oil, a few at a time, without overcrowding the pan. Fry for 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Serve the spicy beef dumpling rolls hot with dipping sauces like soy sauce, sriracha, or a sweet chili sauce.
Notes
- If you prefer a less greasy option, you can bake the rolls at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- For more spice, increase the amount of sriracha sauce or add chili flakes to the filling.
- These rolls can be made ahead and frozen for later. Simply fry or bake them straight from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
