Description

A delicious twist on the classic crab rangoon, the Spicy Crab Rangoon Melt combines creamy crab filling with a spicy kick, melted on a toasted bread base. Perfect as an appetizer, snack, or even a fun dinner option, this dish brings together the flavors of crab, cream cheese, and a touch of heat in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup cooked crab meat, shredded
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp sriracha sauce (or to taste)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices of bread (preferably sourdough or white)
  • Butter (for spreading on bread)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, crab meat, mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and green onions. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  2. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Spread a generous amount of the crab mixture on the unbuttered side of two slices of bread. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  4. Place the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up, on top to form sandwiches.
  5. Grill the sandwiches in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden and crispy and the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from heat and slice diagonally. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you like it spicier, add more sriracha sauce or even a few dashes of hot sauce to the mixture.
  • For a healthier version, you can substitute the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt or low-fat cream cheese.
  • These melts can also be served as sliders by using smaller bread slices and halving the portions.
