A hearty and flavorful beef pie featuring tender leftover brisket, spicy jalapeños, and melted cheese in a flaky pastry crust.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups leftover cooked brisket, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Grease a pie dish or baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  3. Add chopped jalapeños and cook for 2 more minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the veggies, stir to combine and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Gradually add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the mixture thickens.
  6. Add chopped brisket and cheese, season with salt and pepper, and mix well.
  7. Transfer the filling into the prepared dish.
  8. Cover with puff pastry, trim excess, and seal edges. Brush top with beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
