Description

A quick and flavorful Spicy Tuna Spinach Pasta combining tender tuna, fresh spinach, and a spicy kick for a satisfying and healthy meal that’s ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta (penne, spaghetti, or your choice)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 (5 oz) can tuna in olive oil, drained
  • 4 cups fresh spinach leaves
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve 1/2 cup pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red chili flakes; sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the drained tuna to the skillet and break it up gently with a spoon.
  4. Stir in the fresh spinach and cook until wilted, about 2–3 minutes.
  5. Add cherry tomatoes if using and cook for another 1–2 minutes.
  6. Mix in the cooked pasta, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to loosen the sauce.
  7. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice to taste.
  8. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust chili flakes to your preferred spice level.
  • Use canned tuna in water if you want a lighter flavor.
  • For extra protein, add cooked shrimp or chicken.
