- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 (6.5-ounce) container Alouette cheese (smoked jalapeno flavor recommended)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Cook the Onion: In a nonstick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until softened.
- Add Cheese Mixture: Stir in the Alouette cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder, mixing until the cheese melts. Then, stir in the thawed spinach and remove from heat. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Prepare the Bread: Cut the French bread in half lengthwise and place the cut side up on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spread the Mixture: Evenly spread the spinach mixture over the bread halves and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Slice and Serve: Remove from the oven, slice, and enjoy warm.
