Ingredients
-
For the Filling:
-
1 (10 oz) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
-
1 cup sour cream
-
1/2 cup mayonnaise
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
-
1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
For the Rolls:
-
1 package (12 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (or pizza dough)
-
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
-
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for sprinkling)
-
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
-
Instructions
-
Prepare the Spinach Dip Filling:
In a medium bowl, combine the thawed and drained spinach, sour cream, mayonnaise, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, ranch seasoning mix, and garlic (if using). Stir well to combine until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Set aside. -
Prepare the Crescent Roll Dough:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles (if using crescent dough). For pizza dough, simply roll it out into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface. -
Assemble the Rolls:
Take a tablespoon of the spinach dip filling and spread it evenly over each crescent roll triangle or piece of pizza dough. Starting at the wide end, roll each triangle up tightly.
Arrange the rolled-up dough on the prepared baking sheet, pinching the edges to seal the rolls. -
Bake the Rolls:
Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly. -
Serve:
Remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm with a side of ranch dressing or extra spinach dip for dipping.
Notes
-
If using pizza dough, you may need to cut it into smaller pieces to match the size of the crescent rolls.
-
You can make the spinach dip filling ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Assemble the rolls just before baking.
-
For an extra cheesy version, add more mozzarella or a blend of cheeses to the filling.
-
These rolls can be made with fresh spinach instead of frozen. Just sauté and chop the fresh spinach before adding it to the dip mixture.
