Description

Spinach White Pizza is a creamy, savory delight featuring a rich garlic cream sauce, fresh spinach, and a perfect blend of cheeses. This white pizza is a great alternative to the traditional tomato sauce pizza, offering a lighter, flavorful option that’s perfect for any occasion. The combination of garlicky cream sauce, wilted spinach, and melted mozzarella makes this pizza irresistible.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing dough)

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)

  • 2 cups fresh spinach, roughly chopped

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil or oregano (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.

    2. Prepare the White Sauce:

    • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

    • Add the heavy cream and milk, stirring to combine. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.

    3. Prepare the Spinach:

    • In a separate pan, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the fresh spinach and cook, stirring occasionally, until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

    4. Assemble the Pizza:

    • Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired size and shape. If using a pizza stone, transfer the dough to a parchment paper-lined pizza peel.

    • Brush the dough lightly with olive oil to help it crisp up.

    • Spread the prepared white garlic sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.

    • Layer the wilted spinach evenly over the sauce.

    • Add dollops of ricotta cheese, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top. Finish by sprinkling grated Parmesan cheese over the pizza.

    5. Bake the Pizza:

    • Place the pizza in the preheated oven (or onto the pizza stone if using) and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

    • If desired, garnish with fresh basil or oregano once the pizza is out of the oven.

    6. Serve:

    • Slice and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious Spinach White Pizza!

Notes

  • Pizza Dough: If you’re short on time, you can use store-bought dough, or make your own dough in advance.

  • Add-ins: Feel free to add other toppings like mushrooms, artichokes, or onions for extra flavor.

  • Vegan Option: For a vegan pizza, use plant-based cream, dairy-free ricotta, and vegan mozzarella cheese.

  • Cheese Variations: If you prefer a more pungent flavor, you can add a little goat cheese or feta cheese in place of the ricotta.
