Description
Spooky Strawberry Ghosts are a fun and festive Halloween treat made with fresh strawberries dipped in white chocolate and decorated with mini chocolate chips. These easy-to-make ghostly strawberries offer a healthier alternative to traditional Halloween candy and are perfect for parties and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Spooky Strawberry Ghosts:
- 1 lb strawberries (about 14–18 berries)
- 10 oz white dipping chocolate or candy melts (about 1 ¼ cups)
- Mini chocolate chips (for the eyes and mouth)
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberries:
- Rinse and thoroughly dry strawberries. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt the Chocolate:
- Place the white dipping chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth.
- Dip the Strawberries:
- Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip ¾ into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.
- Place dipped strawberries on parchment paper, letting excess chocolate form a “ghost tail.”
- Add the Face:
- Before chocolate sets, press mini chocolate chips into the strawberries to create eyes and a mouth. Place the chips pointy-side up for eyes and pointy-side down for the mouth.
- Let Them Set:
- Allow strawberries to set at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes until the chocolate is firm. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 days.
Notes
- Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to help the chocolate adhere properly.
- Work in small batches to keep the chocolate from setting too quickly.
