  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions

  • Preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions and shape them into thin patties.
  • Season the patties with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  • Cook the patties on the griddle for 2-3 minutes per side until cooked through.
  • While the patties are cooking, mix the softened butter with garlic powder.
  • Spread the garlic butter on the insides of the hamburger buns and toast on the griddle until golden brown.
  • Place a slice of American cheese on 4 patties and top each with another patty to make double burgers.
  • Spread mayonnaise on the bottom buns and sprinkle with garlic salt.
  • Place the double steakburgers on the buns and top with the remaining bun halves.
