- 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
Instructions
- Preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions and shape them into thin patties.
- Season the patties with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- Cook the patties on the griddle for 2-3 minutes per side until cooked through.
- While the patties are cooking, mix the softened butter with garlic powder.
- Spread the garlic butter on the insides of the hamburger buns and toast on the griddle until golden brown.
- Place a slice of American cheese on 4 patties and top each with another patty to make double burgers.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom buns and sprinkle with garlic salt.
- Place the double steakburgers on the buns and top with the remaining bun halves.
