Description

This easy and flavorful side dish combines rice, butter, and seasonings baked to perfection. With minimal ingredients and hands-off cooking, it’s the perfect complement to any meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Baking Dish: In a 9×9-inch baking dish, add the rice. Spread it evenly across the dish.
  3. Add the Butter: Place the stick of butter (cut into pieces) on top of the rice.
  4. Add Broth and Water: Pour the chicken broth and water into the baking dish. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bake: Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
  6. Fluff and Serve: After baking, remove the foil and fluff the rice with a fork before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add herbs like thyme or rosemary, or mix in some grated cheese for a cheesy version. You can also substitute the chicken broth for vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.
