Ingredients

Scale

For the Cheesecake Layer:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream (whipped to soft peaks)

For the Strawberry Layer:

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Cake Layer:

  • 1 store-bought pound cake or angel food cake, cut into cubes (or homemade if preferred)

For Garnish:

  • Whipped cream
  • Fresh strawberries (for topping)
  • Mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Strawberry Layer: In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Toss to coat and let sit for 15-20 minutes to macerate.
  • Prepare the Cheesecake Layer: In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  • Fold in the whipped cream: Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until no streaks remain.
  • Assemble the Trifle: In a large trifle dish or individual glasses, add a layer of cake cubes at the bottom, followed by a layer of cheesecake filling and then a layer of macerated strawberries. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with a cheesecake layer.
  • Serve: Top the trifle with whipped cream, fresh strawberries, and mint leaves. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to a few hours before serving.

Notes

  • You can use other berries like blueberries or raspberries for variation.
  • This trifle can be made a day in advance; however, it’s best enjoyed fresh to keep the layers intact.
