Description

This easy strawberry crumble is the perfect dessert for any occasion! Bursting with fresh strawberries and topped with a buttery, golden crumble, it’s the ideal treat for warm weather. Enjoy it on its own or serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Filling:

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Crumble Topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Instructions

  • Prepare the Filling:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss until the strawberries are evenly coated.
    • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  • Make the Crumble Topping:
    • In a medium bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
    • Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Assemble and Bake:
    • Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the strawberry filling.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  • Cool and Serve:
    • Let the strawberry crumble cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
    • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra treat!

Notes

  • For an extra burst of flavor, you can add a handful of raspberries or blueberries to the strawberry filling.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving for best results.
