Description

Summer Chocolate – Black Sesame – Coconut Candy is a unique and indulgent treat that combines the richness of dark chocolate with the nutty flavor of black sesame and the tropical sweetness of coconut. Perfect for a summer treat or as a special gift for friends and family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (70% cacao)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup black sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (optional for sweetness)
  • Pinch of sea salt (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Once melted, stir in the vanilla extract and honey or maple syrup (if using). Adjust sweetness to your liking.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the shredded coconut and black sesame seeds. Stir to mix evenly.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the melted chocolate onto the sheet and spread it into a thin layer using a spatula.
  5. Sprinkle the coconut and black sesame seed mixture evenly over the melted chocolate.
  6. Gently press the mixture into the chocolate so it sticks, then sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt for a touch of contrast.
  7. Refrigerate the candy for 1-2 hours or until fully set and hardened.
  8. Once hardened, break the chocolate into pieces or cut into squares. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Feel free to use milk chocolate or white chocolate for a different flavor profile.
  • This candy can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
  • If you want to add a bit of crunch, you can mix in roasted nuts like almonds or cashews.
