Summer Chocolate – Black Sesame – Coconut Candy is a unique and indulgent treat that combines the richness of dark chocolate with the nutty flavor of black sesame and the tropical sweetness of coconut. Perfect for a summer treat or as a special gift for friends and family.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips (70% cacao)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1/4 cup black sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (optional for sweetness)
- Pinch of sea salt (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
- Once melted, stir in the vanilla extract and honey or maple syrup (if using). Adjust sweetness to your liking.
- In a separate bowl, combine the shredded coconut and black sesame seeds. Stir to mix evenly.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the melted chocolate onto the sheet and spread it into a thin layer using a spatula.
- Sprinkle the coconut and black sesame seed mixture evenly over the melted chocolate.
- Gently press the mixture into the chocolate so it sticks, then sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt for a touch of contrast.
- Refrigerate the candy for 1-2 hours or until fully set and hardened.
- Once hardened, break the chocolate into pieces or cut into squares. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Feel free to use milk chocolate or white chocolate for a different flavor profile.
- This candy can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
- If you want to add a bit of crunch, you can mix in roasted nuts like almonds or cashews.
