This Super Easy Easter Cheese Ball is the perfect appetizer for your Easter celebration! Creamy and savory with a festive touch, it’s shaped into a fun bunny or egg shape and covered with colorful herbs and toppings. A quick, no-bake recipe that will impress your guests and keep them coming back for more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions or parsley (for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper or mini bell peppers (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon crushed pecans or walnuts (optional, for garnish)

  • 1 tablespoon paprika (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the cheese mixture:

    • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled feta cheese (if using), mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder.
    • Use a hand mixer or a spoon to mix everything together until smooth and well-combined.
  2. Shape the cheese ball:

    • Once the mixture is smooth, transfer it to a piece of plastic wrap.
    • Shape the mixture into a ball or, for an Easter twist, shape it into an egg or bunny shape by pressing the mixture gently into your desired shape.
  3. Chill the cheese ball:

    • Wrap the cheese ball tightly in the plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours, or until it firms up.
  4. Garnish the cheese ball:

    • Once chilled and firm, remove the cheese ball from the refrigerator and unwrap it.
    • For a festive touch, roll the cheese ball in chopped chives, green onions, or parsley.
    • Garnish the top with chopped red bell peppers for color, and if desired, sprinkle with crushed nuts or paprika.
  5. Serve:

    • Place the cheese ball on a platter and serve with crackers, veggie sticks, or small bread slices.
    • Enjoy as a savory treat for Easter gatherings or any springtime celebration!

Notes

  • Feel free to switch up the cheese combinations based on your preferences. You can add a bit of cream cheese for extra creaminess or use different types of shredded cheese.
  • If you want to make the cheese ball ahead of time, it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days before serving.

  • For a sweeter version, you could add some dried cranberries or raisins to the mix.
