Description

  • Sweet and Savory Glazed Sausage and Potatoes is a flavorful, one-pan dish that combines the perfect balance of savory sausage with sweet, caramelized potatoes. The glaze, made from a combination of honey, mustard, and spices, adds an irresistible sweetness to the hearty sausage and tender potatoes. This easy-to-make recipe is ideal for a weeknight dinner or a weekend meal and is guaranteed to please everyone at the table.

Ingredients

Scale
    • 1 pound sausage links (Italian sausage or your choice of sausage)

    • 1 pound baby potatoes, halved or quartered

    • 2 tablespoons olive oil

    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

    • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

    • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Glaze:

    • 3 tablespoons honey

    • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

    • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

    • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sausage and Potatoes:

    • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

    • In a large bowl, toss the halved or quartered potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

    • Place the seasoned potatoes on a baking sheet in a single layer.

    • Prick the sausages with a fork a few times to prevent them from bursting while cooking, and place them on the baking sheet with the potatoes.

  2. Bake the Sausage and Potatoes:

    • Roast the sausage and potatoes in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the sausage is cooked through and the potatoes are golden brown and tender. Stir the potatoes halfway through cooking for even browning.

  3. Make the Glaze:

    • While the sausage and potatoes are roasting, whisk together the honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and black pepper in a small bowl until the glaze is well combined and smooth.

  4. Glaze the Sausage and Potatoes:

    • Once the sausage and potatoes are cooked, remove the baking sheet from the oven.

    • Drizzle the glaze over the sausages and potatoes, tossing to coat everything evenly.

    • Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, allowing the glaze to caramelize and coat the sausages and potatoes.

  5. Serve:

    • Serve the glazed sausage and potatoes hot, garnished with fresh herbs like parsley if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use any type of sausage you prefer, such as turkey sausage, chicken sausage, or pork sausage.

  • Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers, onions, or carrots to the pan for extra flavor and texture.

  • If you want a little more heat, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze for a spicy kick.

  • The glaze can also be made in advance and stored in the fridge for up to a week. Just heat it up before using.
