Description

These delightful Strawberry Glazed Donuts are soft, fluffy, and topped with a sweet strawberry glaze, making them perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat any time of day.

For the Donuts:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • Oil for frying (if making fried donuts) or donut molds for baked donuts

For the Strawberry Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
  • 23 tbsp heavy cream
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Toppings:

  • Fresh strawberries, halved for topping
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth dough forms.
  • For Frying: Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat to about 350°F (175°C). Roll the dough out on a floured surface and cut into donut shapes. Carefully fry the donuts for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on a paper towel.
  • For Baking: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the batter into greased donut molds and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden and cooked through.
  • To make the strawberry glaze, mash the fresh strawberries in a small bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, mashed strawberries, cream, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust consistency by adding more cream if needed.
  • Once the donuts have cooled, dip them into the strawberry glaze and place them on a wire rack to set.
  • Top each donut with fresh strawberry halves and dust with powdered sugar for a beautiful finishing touch.
