Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 (1 oz) packet taco seasoning
- ¼ cup water (or beef broth)
- 1 cup refried beans (optional)
- 2 cups cooked Mexican rice (or instant)
- 4 burrito-sized flour tortillas
- 2 cups Fritos or Doritos
- 1 cup cheese dip (warmed, like Tostitos)
- 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
- ½ cup sour cream
- Salsa (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: Brown the ground beef in a sauté pan over medium heat, breaking it apart until no longer pink (about 5-7 minutes). Stir in taco seasoning and water/broth; simmer for 1 minute. Mix in refried beans if using.
- Prepare the Rice: Cook Mexican rice according to package directions, or use leftover rice. Ensure it’s warm.
- Warm the Tortillas: Wrap tortillas in a damp paper towel and microwave for about 30 seconds.
- Assemble the Burritos: Lay a tortilla flat, adding beef mixture, rice, Fritos/Doritos, warm cheese dip, shredded cheese, and sour cream.
- Fold the Burritos: Fold in the sides and roll from the bottom to enclose the filling. Repeat for remaining tortillas.
- Serve: Enjoy as is or heat in a skillet for a crispy texture. Serve with salsa if desired.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by using a milder or spicier taco seasoning.
- Customize fillings with additional toppings like jalapeños or guacamole.
