Description

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 ½ tablespoons taco seasoning mix
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup salsa con queso
- 3 8-inch flour tortillas or corn tortillas
- 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend or cheddar cheese
- Sour cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook Beef: Heat some oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Add Seasoning: Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until well combined.
- Add Salsa: Mix in salsa con queso and remove from heat.
- Prepare Baking Dish: Spray an 8-inch round baking tin with cooking spray.
- Layer Casserole: Place one tortilla at the bottom of the baking tin. Spread ⅓ of the beef mixture over the tortilla, then top with ⅓ of the shredded cheese. Repeat layers twice more.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Cool and Serve: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with sour cream if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add chopped jalapenos or a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- You can use either flour or corn tortillas based on your preference.
