Ingredients

Scale

For the Pizza:

  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey for a lighter version)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup diced red onion
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives
  • ½ cup salsa or taco sauce

Optional Garnishes:

  • Sour cream
  • Jalapeños
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Crumbled tortilla chips

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
If using a pizza stone, preheat it in the oven as well.

Step 2: Cook the Ground Beef
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
Drain any excess fat, then add the taco seasoning and water.
Stir well and simmer for 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens. Set aside.

Step 3: Prepare the Pizza Dough
Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired size.
Place the dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
If using store-bought dough, follow the package instructions for pre-baking if necessary.

    Step 4: Assemble the Pizza
Spread a thin layer of salsa or taco sauce on the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Evenly distribute the taco-seasoned ground beef over the sauce.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top of the beef.

    Step 5: Bake the Pizza
Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown.

    Step 6: Add Fresh Toppings
Once the pizza is baked, remove it from the oven.
Top with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, diced red onion, and sliced black olives.
Optional: Garnish with sour cream, jalapeños, cilantro, or crumbled tortilla chips for added crunch.

    Step 7: Slice and Serve
Slice the pizza and serve immediately. Enjoy your taco-inspired pizza!

Notes

  • Customize the Toppings: Feel free to add your favorite taco toppings like guacamole, avocado slices, or shredded cheese.
  • Make it Spicy: For a spicier kick, add chopped jalapeños or drizzle the pizza with hot sauce.
  • Vegetarian Option: Skip the ground beef and use beans (black beans or refried beans) for a vegetarian taco pizza.
  • Make-Ahead: You can prepare the taco meat ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
