Tater Tot Pizza Casserole combines the crispy goodness of tater tots with all your favorite pizza toppings in one hearty, crowd-pleasing dish. Layers of savory ground beef, pizza sauce, cheese, and pepperoni are topped with golden tater tots and baked to perfection. It’s the ultimate comfort food that’s great for weeknight dinners or game day gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2 cups pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
  • Optional toppings: sliced black olives, diced green peppers, mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to blend the flavors.
  4. Spread the meat mixture evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the meat mixture.
  6. Layer mini pepperoni slices and any optional toppings over the cheese.
  7. Arrange tater tots in a single layer on top of the casserole.
  8. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
  9. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup of cheese on top and bake for another 5 minutes, until melted.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or sausage for ground beef if preferred.
  • Try a mix of cheeses like cheddar or provolone for extra flavor.
