Description

These tender slow-cooked steak bites are coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, making them a perfect easy dinner or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening sauce)
  • 2 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, olive oil, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes (if using), and black pepper.
  2. Place the cubed steak into the slow cooker and pour the honey garlic sauce over the top. Stir to coat the steak evenly.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until the steak is tender and fully cooked.
  4. If you want to thicken the sauce, combine cornstarch and water in a small bowl to make a slurry. About 30 minutes before the end of cooking, stir the slurry into the sauce and cook uncovered for the final 30 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.
  5. Once cooked, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
  6. Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or enjoy as an appetizer.

  • For a richer flavor, use low-sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos if you prefer a gluten-free option.
