Description
These tender slow-cooked steak bites are coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, making them a perfect easy dinner or appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening sauce)
- 2 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)
- Chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, olive oil, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes (if using), and black pepper.
- Place the cubed steak into the slow cooker and pour the honey garlic sauce over the top. Stir to coat the steak evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until the steak is tender and fully cooked.
- If you want to thicken the sauce, combine cornstarch and water in a small bowl to make a slurry. About 30 minutes before the end of cooking, stir the slurry into the sauce and cook uncovered for the final 30 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.
- Once cooked, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
- Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or enjoy as an appetizer.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use low-sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos if you prefer a gluten-free option.
- Feel free to add vegetables (such as bell peppers or onions) to the slow cooker for extra flavor.
- These steak bites are perfect for meal prep and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
