Description

A delicious and festive treat combining the rich flavors of chocolate and orange, perfect for holiday baking or a sweet indulgence any time of year.


Ingredients

  • 100 grams softened unsalted butter
  • 75 grams soft light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 150 grams self-rising flour
  • 30 grams cocoa powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons cornflour
  • 2 Terry’s Chocolate Orange bars (chopped, except for 12 segments)
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract (or zest of 1 orange)
  • 12 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) standard / 160°C (320°F) fan. Grease and line an 8×8 inch baking tin with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare chocolate: Chop all but 12 segments of Terry’s Chocolate Orange into chunks.
  3. Cream butter and sugar: Beat the butter until soft, then add the sugar and cream together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add dry ingredients: Stir in the golden syrup, flour, cocoa powder, cornflour, chopped chocolate orange, and orange extract. Add milk to loosen the mixture if needed.
  5. Bake: Place even spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking trays. Bake for 10 minutes, then take out of the oven and quickly press a Terry’s Chocolate Orange segment on top of each cookie. Bake for an additional 3 minutes.
  6. Cool: Let cookies cool on the trays for a couple of minutes before removing and placing on a wire cooling rack to cool completely

Notes

  • For a more intense orange flavor, consider adding orange zest.
