- 6 pounds apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)
- 2 cups sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Cook the Apples: Place the peeled, cored, and chopped apples in a large pot or slow cooker. Cook on low heat for 4-6 hours until soft.
- Blend the Apples: Puree the mixture using an immersion blender or food processor until smooth.
- Add Spices: Stir in sugar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt. Cook on low for an additional 8-10 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Finish and Cool: Stir in vanilla extract and allow to cool before transferring to jars
