Description

Enjoy these delicious, gooey, and crispy mozzarella sticks in just 30 minutes! Perfect as an appetizer or snack, they’re easy to customize and fun to make.


Ingredients

  • 12 mozzarella cheese sticks (or string cheese)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 cups Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

  • Unwrap and cut mozzarella sticks in half for shorter pieces (optional).
  • Set up breading stations: place flour in one bowl, eggs and water in a second, and breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper in a third.
  • Dredge each cheese stick in flour, dip in egg wash, and then coat in breadcrumbs. Repeat for extra crunch.
  • Arrange the breaded sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 1 hour.
  • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  • Serve hot with marinara sauce.

Notes

  • Freeze the sticks before frying to keep the cheese from leaking out.
  • Double coat for an extra layer of crunch.
