Description
A hearty and classic San Giorgio Lasagna made with layers of tender noodles, seasoned ground beef, rich ricotta, and gooey mozzarella cheese, all baked to perfection.

- 12 San Giorgio Lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 32 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 26 ounces pasta sauce (preferably marinara)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the San Giorgio lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water; set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic until the meat is browned and crumbled (about 8-10 minutes). Drain any excess fat.
- Add the pasta sauce to the skillet with the cooked meat and stir to combine.
- In a separate mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, beaten eggs, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.
- In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread 1/3 of the meat sauce across the bottom. Layer 4 noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layering process with another third of the meat sauce, remaining noodles, remaining ricotta mixture, and another cup of mozzarella cheese.
- For the final layer, place the last set of noodles on top, cover with the remaining meat sauce, and sprinkle with leftover mozzarella and grated Parmesan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until bubbling and golden brown.
- Let the lasagna sit for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Allowing the lasagna to rest before serving helps the layers set for easier slicing.
