Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 22/3 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup powdered milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 package quick rise yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 12/3 cups warm water (110-115°F)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Filling

  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage
  • 1/2 lb ground chuck
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (8oz) block mozzarella cheese

Sauce (Prepare the day before)

  • 1 (6oz) can tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary

Instructions

  1. Crust: Preheat the oven to 475°F. Spray an 18×13 sheet pan with cooking spray and line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, powdered milk, sugar, yeast, and salt. Whisk until well-blended.
  3. Add the vegetable oil to the warm water, then pour the mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon until a dough forms. It’s okay if there are lumps, just ensure there are no dry spots.
  4. Spread the dough evenly onto the prepared sheet pan using your fingertips. If the dough resists, let it rest for 5 minutes before trying again.
  5. Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes. Once baked, remove it from the oven and set aside.
  6. Filling: Brown the Italian sausage and ground chuck together in a skillet over medium heat, adding salt and pepper. Cook until the meat resembles crumbles, then drain the fat and set aside.
  7. Assembling the pizza:
    • Spread the sauce evenly over the partially baked crust.
    • Sprinkle the browned meat mixture over the sauce.
    • Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake the pizza at 475°F for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese begins to brown.
  9. Let the pizza stand for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can make the sauce the day before to allow the flavors to blend better.
  • For a crispier crust, bake the crust a few minutes longer before adding the toppings.
