Description

Tricia’s Fantastic Fudge Pie is a rich, decadent dessert that’s perfect for chocolate lovers. With a fudgy, almost brownie-like filling encased in a buttery pie crust, this dessert is easy to make and guaranteed to impress! Whether for a special occasion or just because, this pie will quickly become a family favorite.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pie:

  • 1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust (or homemade pie crust)

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional for added richness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.

  2. Make the Fudge Pie Filling:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until fully combined. Gradually stir in the flour until smooth and well-mixed. If using chocolate chips, fold them into the batter.

  3. Pour into the Pie Crust:
Pour the fudge pie batter into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.

  4. Bake the Pie:
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly soft. The top should look firm, and a toothpick inserted into the center will come out with a few moist crumbs attached (not wet batter). The pie will continue to set as it cools.

  5. Cool and Serve:
Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing and serving. For an extra treat, serve with whipped cream, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or fresh berries.

Notes

  • If you prefer a richer pie, you can add a bit more chocolate chips or even use dark chocolate.

  • This pie is delicious served warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream.

  • For a gluten-free version, you can substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
