Description

These Tuna Melt Patties are the perfect combination of crispy, savory, and cheesy goodness! Packed with tuna, melted cheese, and flavorful seasonings, these patties are great as a quick meal or a tasty appetizer. Serve them with a side of salad or on a bun for an easy and delicious dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained and flaked
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the flaked tuna, shredded cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, eggs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

  2. Form the Patties:
Divide the mixture into 8 portions and shape them into small patties, about 1/2 inch thick. If the mixture feels too loose, you can add a little more breadcrumbs to help it hold together.

  3. Cook the Patties:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the patties to the skillet, cooking in batches if needed. Fry the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. Serve:
Once cooked, transfer the patties to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Serve warm with a side of your favorite dipping sauce, or on a bun as a sandwich. Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute the cheddar cheese with Swiss, mozzarella, or any cheese you prefer.
  • These patties are great on a bun with lettuce, tomato, and a drizzle of your favorite sauce for a quick Tuna Melt sandwich.
  • For a healthier option, you can bake these patties in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
