Description

A flavorful Turkish-inspired chicken dish marinated in warm spices and grilled or pan-seared, then served with a rich and tangy yogurt-based white sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Creamy White Sauce:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill or parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, olive oil, garlic, paprika, cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili flakes, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Add chicken to the marinade, coat well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best flavor).
  3. Meanwhile, mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl and chill until ready to serve.
  4. Grill or pan-sear the marinated chicken over medium heat for 6–7 minutes per side or until cooked through.
  5. Let chicken rest for 5 minutes, then slice.
  6. Serve over rice, flatbread, or salad, and drizzle generously with the creamy white sauce.

  • Add chopped cucumbers and tomatoes for a refreshing side.
  • Great in wraps or over bulgur wheat too.
